Stay Flexible

Thank goodness for Tae Kwon Do!  After one year I'm a brown belt, but more importantly, I've increased my physical and emotional flexibility.  It helped me when I put up insulation under our house, and it helps me navigate a busy summer as we move from the house I've lived in for 17 and a half years to the house I grew up in.  The move is only 3.5 miles, but it's a lot longer than that symbolically.

Due to budget realities I had to leave the job at Venetia Valley School after this school year was over, and am very grateful to report being hired by the Larkspur School District.  I'll be teaching 3rd & 4th grade music at Neil Cummins School in Corte Madera.  I'm joining an excellent team of music and art teachers; it's going to be a very rewarding!  My goal is for this job to last for many years, hopefully until retirement in my 60s.

I finally bought the symphonic trombone of my dreams several months ago, and it's already paid off.  My Conn 88hcl is a dream to play.  The work I do with professional union orchestras and concert bands requires it.  More to the point, I can play the music with the sound and facility that is required, and that I hear in my head.  The right tool for the right job. It never fails.
